Our waste recycling service will help you comply with the Directive and ensure the correct disposal of your Electrical Waste.

Under new government legislation we are all obliged and must play our part to ensure that the amount of waste on certain electrical and electronic equipment is reduced.

It is mandatory for manufacturers to provide for:,  End of life recycling for the following lamp types:

  • All fluorescent tubes ( both linear and other shapes)
  • All compact fluorescent lamps
  • High intensity discharge lamps ( mercury, sodium and metal halide )

End of life Recycling costs

The costs of end of life recycling will be covered by manufacturers at the time of sales by a specific WEEE charge against each of the above lamp or tube types. Our invoices will reflect this charge and will be shown on a seperate line against each affected lamp type.

 

Some of the chemicals and metals used in Lamp & Tubes items can be harmful to soil and human health when disposed of in landfill sites. By adopting these new regulations and working together we can all reduce the amount of landfill and resulting contamination.

For your part as the customer you are encouraged to examine your electrical waste before throwing it away.
